Not really a map case, but a log book and planning guide with a basic flight computer built in. A thumbwheel that extends outside the case turns the C scale between the percentage scale and the fixed "D" scale. Inside the D scale is a wind drift or velocity-made-good calculator with a rotating compass rose over a grid.
Several pages are for recording airfield data and for trip planning. Two pages are blank for notes and calculations. The outside of the lid is also a writing surface. A clip holds a small pencil and an adjustable elastic strap is provided to secure the device to your knee.
