When's the last time you checked your biorhythms? You know, those periodic ups and downs we all experience? Mumbo-Jumbo, you say? Well, perhaps. But in that period of human history we call "The Seventies", often mumbo-jumbo was all you had access to.

So Casio stepped in with the Biolator. No longer did you have to work out tedious calculations on paper, or pay several dollars every month to have someone make a chart for you. (Hey, computer time is expensive!) Now with a few keystrokes enlightenment can be yours, and no longer will you have to worry whether or not to make that important decision or purchase.

Except for one small detail. The biorhythm feature's internal calendar only works on dates between 1901 and 1999. Bet you thought Y2K didn't affect you.

[edit] Operating Example

What was my biorhythm reading the day I entered Marine Corps boot camp?

Instructions Keystrokes Display
Enter Birth Year [6] [4] [DATE] 64.
Enter Birth Month [2] [DATE] 64.02.
Enter Birth Date [7] [DATE] 64.02.07-5
The trailing 5 is the day of week for that date. Look at the chart in the top right to see that I was born on a Friday.
Continue with biorhythm calculation [-] 64.02.07-5
Enter Current Year [8] [2] [DATE] 82.
Enter Current Month [6] [DATE] 82.06.

Reading: Physical: 12, Spiritual/Emotional: 13, Intellectual: 6

A glance at the chart at the top of the calculator suggests I'm in a critical state physically, doing ok (for a while) emotionally, and on an upswing mentally.

Mumbo-jumbo. It was a horrible day.
