Microsoft Corporation of Redmond, Washington, USA. Founded by two guys in an apartment (a garage not being available), Bill Gates and Paul Allen. Their first product was a BASIC interpreter for the MIPS Altair 8800 microcomputer. Mr. Allen retired quite some time ago for health reasons, and Mr. Gates will be retiring in the next couple of years to concentrate on charitable works. The current story is the TRS-80 Model 100 is the last production coding Mr. Gates personally worked on. I have no objective confirmation of that rumor.
