Slide rules in this category represent the final effort's of the various manufacturers. At the end of the slide rule era, rules having in excess of two dozen scales were being marketed. It is believed that the next generation of rules would have upwards of 40 scales, but the advent of the pocket calculator caused slide rule development to completely cease by 1975.
