Hewlett Packard HP-50g
- Type: Programmable RPN/Algebraic Electronic Calculator
- Size: 3.5 x 7.5 inches / 8.5 x 18 cm
- Serial number: CNA 61806895
- Date of Manufacture: May 2006
With faux leather magnetic clasp soft case, abridged manual and CDROM containing the full manual and USB drivers for Microsoft Windows.
An incremental update to the HP-49g+. Adds financial calculation support, the Equation Library and a faster processor. The I/O options include IrDA, USB and RS-232 serial (the latter in a nonstandard connecter for which the cable is not supplied). The Kinpo look-and-feel is improving. The documentation is at the same standard as the 49g+ (i.e. not great) and a reference manual is needed.
It seems to me that HP is consolidating the features of its Kinpo 48 and 49 lines into a single calculator which is logical. There was never much difference between them.
As of 5:08 PM PDT, August 7, 2006, HP has not yet added the HP-50g to their own website. Consider them scooped.
