  • Type: Circular Custom
  • Size: 16 inches / 40 cm
  • Material: Aluminum
  • Scales:
    • "CORRECTOR" "FUZE SET" index / "FUZE SET" "RANGE IN HUNDREDS OF METERS"

These discs are to assist the artilleryman in calculating the elevation and charge necessary to lob a 105mm shell up to 10000 meters in the general direction of the enemy. Scales for calculating drift and high-angle shots are included. Unfortunately, I have no manual and some of the scales are opaque to me. A large arm serves as the runner to select the CORRECTOR value. Then you set the range under the little plastic window, and read the fuze setting. Red probably means you can expect a little collateral damage if you try it.

The rules are marked: INDICATOR, FUZE, FOR GUN EQUIPMENT 105 M.M., L5. SHELL, H.E. M1 FUZE, M520 SHELL, SMOKE WPM 60 PLATE, RANGE SCALE, FL15502. Lots of things you can shoot out of a 105 mm Howitzer, I guess. These are clearly several generations down the road from the FT155 rules.

There are two discs in the set. "CHARGES 1, 2, & 3" and "CHARGES 4 & 5" share one disc, "CHARGE SIX" and "CHARGE SEVEN" share the second. They are stored in a fitted steel case. The entire set weighs twenty pounds, and you, Private, get to hump it to the top of Hill 405. March!
