Or, "What are these stupid ads doing on these pages?"
The short answer is yes, I sold out. I'll might make enough to pay for one month's ISP bill each year. Frankly, I'd be surprised if Google didn't tell me to take a hike for lack of activity. (For the record, I pay $7.95/month for webhosting and $60.92/month for DSL at home.)
The long answer is that I'm trying to learn something about Internet economics. Google says I can make money by putting a little text box or two on my web pages. I see only one way to find out whether that model is viable, and here it is. Be sure to say "Hi" when you see me at the teller machine!
- (Your reaction to this is part of the experiment. Feel free to drop me a line at co149 [whirlpool] mac [spot] com telling me what you think. Be sure and tell me why you think the way you do. The deeper you dig into yourself the less likely I will be to roundfile your email. If you hate webpage ads, don't just say "I hate webpage ads." Say "I hate webpage ads because I feel [blank]." Make it personal, OK?)
